The Amphenol Minitek 2.00mm series bridges the gap between 2.54mm headers (standard, easy to use) and 1.27mm headers (high density, harder to handle). With nearly 300 variants, the 2.00mm pitch provides 27% higher contact density than 2.54mm while remaining accessible for hand soldering and manual assembly — making it the sweet spot for general embedded and industrial designs that need more connectors in limited PCB space.

2.00mm: The Middle-Ground Pitch

• vs 2.54mm: 27% more contacts per PCB length. A 20-position 2.00mm header is shorter than a 16-position 2.54mm header.
• vs 1.27mm: Easier to hand-solder and rework. Larger contact beams for higher current capacity (1.5A vs 1A).

The 2.00mm pitch is increasingly standard for ARM debug (Cortex Debug + ETM) and FPGA configuration headers where signal count is moderate (10-20 pins) and rapid prototyping requires hand-solderable connectors.
