Sizing the PCB terminal block for a 10-circuit power interface
The Molex 0395933010 is a 10-position, single-level Eurostyle ESE 39593 terminal block with a 0.197" (5.00 mm) pitch, designed for through-hole soldering to a PCB. It terminates solid or stranded wire from 14 AWG down to 22 AWG using a screw-driven rising cage clamp — the clamp pulls the wire against a brass current bar, not the screw tip, so the conductor isn't nicked or deformed.
Wire termination and torque setting
Each position accepts one wire into the rising cage clamp. The recommended torque is 0.51 Nm (4.5 Lb-In) — overtightening can strip the steel screw or deform the brass clamp; undertorquing leaves the wire loose under vibration. The clamp material is brass with no additional plating; the screw is steel, and the contact surface on the current bar is tin-plated brass. For a 10-position block, that means ten independent terminations, each with its own screw, so the assembly time adds up.
