Board lock and shrouding — what they do in assembly
The board lock is a pair of plastic posts that snap into the PCB during through-hole soldering. They hold the header square during wave solder and resist the shear force from the mating cable assembly — without them, the header can tilt and the solder joints crack under cable strain. The 2-wall shrouding protects the male blade contacts from being bent during handling or blind mating. The shroud also acts as a polarisation key — the mating receptacle only inserts one way, which prevents contact stubbing.
Mating half and push-pull retention
Mates with the Picoflex PF-50 receptacle housing (series 90325, e.g. 0903250110). In a panel or enclosure that sees vibration, a secondary strain-relief or tie-down is advisable.
