Power plug for board-edge bus-level distribution
The Molex 1510350002 is the 2-circuit male-blade plug in the EXTreme Guardian II 151035 series, designed for high-current power distribution where each contact carries main-rail current. The 11.00 mm pitch provides the creepage necessary for the 600 V rating without forcing an oversized board footprint — a deliberate spacing for high-voltage power duty. Right-angle through-hole termination orients the plug parallel to the PCB, making it a natural fit for board-edge power entry in server PSUs, busbar interconnects, or battery management systems.
80 A per circuit — what that means for the power rail
80 A per circuit means each of the two male blades carries bus-level current — sized for the main DC rail or a high-current distribution bus, not a signal line or low-power branch. The 30.0 µin gold plating on the copper alloy contacts supports repeated mating cycles without contact fretting, which is important in field-serviceable power connections where the connector sees multiple mate-unmate events. The locking ramp holds the mated pair under vibration, preventing arcing that can occur with loose high-current connections.
Construction and environment
The black LCP housing carries a -40°C to 105°C operating range, suitable for industrial cabinet and automotive underhood environments where temperature cycling is a given. The board guide aids alignment during soldering, reducing stress on the through-hole solder joints. The connector is ROHS3 Compliant.
