Sealed 8-Position Housing for Harsh Environments
The Molex 1600783027 is an 8-circuit, 2-row receptacle housing from the MX150 160078 series, designed for sealed, free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnects where moisture and vibration are a concern. The 3.50mm pitch keeps the terminal spacing wide enough for the 20-22 AWG wire range typical of power and sensor circuits in automotive and industrial harnesses. Key features include an integral seal and a Connector Position Assurance (CPA) lock — the CPA is a secondary latch that prevents the housing from backing off the mating header if the primary latch holder isn't fully seated.
What Crimp Terminals Fit This Housing
The MX150 series uses the 33001 or equivalent crimp terminal for 20-22 AWG wire — the same terminal family that mates with the MX150 male header pins. The crimp barrel is a standard open-barrel design; a hand crimp tool or a pneumatic applicator (such as the Molex 63819-1000) seats the terminal and locks it into the housing cavity with an audible click.
The sealed feature means the housing carries an interfacial seal and a wire-seal grommet. The CPA is a secondary latch that locks over the primary latch.
