3-Position Free-Hanging Receptacle, Obsolete
The housing is black and includes a Terminal Position Lock (TPA) notch — that notch lets a TPA retainer slide in to lock each female socket terminal in place after crimping, a real help on a harness build where a terminal that isn't fully seated can back out under vibration.
The TPA notch accepts a separate Terminal Position Assurance retainer (sold separately) that slides over the loaded terminals to confirm each one is fully seated; without it, a partially inserted contact can pass a pull test but still back out in service.
