2-circuit right-angle header for wire-to-board harnesses
The 1723103102 is a 2-position, single-row header from the Molex Ultra-Fit 172310 series. It mates with a cable-side receptacle (sold separately) to create a board-to-wire connection — the right-angle orientation routes the harness parallel to the PCB, saving vertical clearance in tight enclosures. Pitch is 3.50 mm, wider than the common 2.54 mm, which gives more room per circuit for current and wire routing. The header is fully shrouded on all four sides, protecting the male pins during handling and mating.
This header mates with the corresponding Ultra-Fit receptacle housing (Molex series 172311). The latch holder on the header engages a matching ramp on the receptacle, providing a positive lock that resists vibration-induced disconnect — relevant for automotive and industrial applications where the harness sees movement.
Board fit and mounting details
Insulation height is 0.353" (8.96 mm), which sets the z-height clearance needed above the PCB for the mated receptacle.
Temperature range and current rating
Operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C — covers most automotive cabin and industrial cabinet environments. Current rating is specified as 'varies by wire gauge' because the limiting factor is the wire and crimp terminal, not the header pin itself.
