8-Circuit Plug Housing for Wire-to-Board Power Harnesses
The Molex 1727670008 is the 8-circuit plug housing in the Mini-Fit TPA2 172767 series, a dual-row wire-to-board power interconnect rated for the 4.20mm pitch class. The 0.165" (4.20mm) pitch and 0.165" (4.20mm) row spacing match the standard Mini-Fit footprint — same as the original Mini-Fit Jr. but with the TPA2 secondary lock feature that the terminal must be fully seated before the housing can be mated.
The keying geometry of the TPA2 series prevents cross-mating with standard Mini-Fit Jr. housings — the TPA2 has a different internal ramp profile that only accepts the TPA2 terminal. You must order the male crimp terminals separately — the Mini-Fit TPA2 crimp terminal (Molex 172767 series) for 18-24 AWG wire.
Panel-Mount Snap-In Installation
The snap-in ears on both sides engage the panel edge and hold the housing rigid while the mating header is plugged in. This is the typical install for a harness that passes through a bulkhead, where the plug stays fixed to the panel and the header is on the PCB inside the enclosure.
