The Molex 2069972401 is a 4-circuit plug housing from the CP-4.5 206997 series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnect applications where a positive-locking, vibration-resistant connection is required. Its 4.50 mm pitch and dual-row layout provide adequate creepage for moderate-voltage power and signal circuits in industrial control, automotive body electronics, and appliance harness assemblies.
Housing Construction and Key Specs
Moulded in blue polyamide (PA66) with a UL94 V-0-rated insulation material, the housing withstands operating temperatures from -40°C to 120°C, covering underhood and industrial cabinet thermal profiles. The 0.232" (5.90 mm) row spacing gives the crimp terminals enough room for 16–22 AWG wire with standard insulation diameters.
The buyer must order the matching male pin crimp terminals (Molex CP-4.5 series) and insert them into the cavities after crimping. The crimp termination method allows field-replaceable contacts and custom wire-length harness builds without soldering.
The 4-position, 4.50 mm pitch, dual-row layout is keyed by the housing geometry — no polarisation options exist within the series, so the plug and receptacle are self-aligning on mate. No board-mount header is used in this free-hanging configuration; the receptacle side terminates to the mating harness or panel-mount version.
