What this 2-position power header does
The 2155103031 is a 2-circuit, 12.50 mm pitch header from the Molex Coeur PowerWize series. It carries a single row of male pins in a shrouded 4-wall housing, terminated via screw clamp — no crimp tool, no applicator. The silver-plated contacts (125 µinch on both mating and post) are rated for high-current duty where the wire gauge sets the actual ampacity. Silver keeps contact resistance low under load, but it tarnishes in sulphide-rich air — keep this header inside a sealed enclosure or a clean cabinet. That combination fits industrial cabinet gear, automotive underhood modules, and battery-pack interconnect where the ambient sees both cold soak and engine heat.
Screw termination — no press, no applicator
The screw termination means the wire is clamped under a screw head, not crimped. This eliminates the need for a dedicated crimp press and applicator — a field technician or a low-volume build can terminate with a screwdriver. The trade-off is that pull-off force depends on screw torque and wire preparation, not a calibrated crimp profile. The contact post length is 0.053" (1.35 mm) — short, meant for a PCB where the header sits flush against the board.
Current rating — set by the wire, not the header
That is not a placeholder — the screw terminal's ampacity is limited by the wire's temperature rise at the clamp point. For a given wire size, the derating follows the housing's 125°C ceiling. In practice, a 10 AWG stranded wire will carry more current than a 14 AWG in the same screw clamp, but the contact itself (silver-plated copper alloy) does not bottleneck until well above the wire's rating. The voltage rating is 400V — suitable for DC bus or single-phase AC power distribution inside equipment. The shrouded 4-wall housing provides basic finger-probe protection per the IEC/UL clearance requirements at that voltage.
