Design and Application Notes
The Molex Beau 387106904 is a 4-circuit barrier strip from the Beau 38710 series, designed for moderate-power wire-to-board termination in control panels, power supplies, and industrial equipment. The 0.375" (9.53 mm) pitch provides ample creepage for the 300 V rating without forcing an oversized board footprint — it's wide enough for easy routing and field wiring but takes up predictable real estate on a PCB. The dual-wall barrier construction (2 Wall) physically separates adjacent terminals, reducing the risk of accidental shorting during servicing or high-vibration conditions. The 14-22 AWG wire range covers most field wiring in these applications, and the screw top termination allows quick field changes without special tooling. The bottom PC pin termination solders directly into a PCB, making this a hybrid interconnect that bridges a harness to a board. The black PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) housing, glass-filled, holds up to -40 °C to 100 °C operating temperatures, suitable for indoor industrial cabinets and climate-controlled environments. The nickel-plated brass terminal screws resist corrosion over multiple wiring cycles.
