What it is and where it sits in the Beau 38721 series
The Molex 387217302 is the 2-circuit member of the Beau 38721 barrier strip family — a single-row, flange-mount terminal block designed for chassis and panel wiring in industrial control enclosures. The 0.375 inch (9.53 mm) pitch gives adequate legroom for the 12-22 AWG wire range the block accepts, and the dual-wall barrier construction provides the dead-front isolation that panel codes demand in serviceable power-distribution nodes.
Current and voltage — what the ratings mean for the circuit
Rated 20 A per circuit at 300 V — that combination puts this squarely in low-to-medium power distribution duty: branch circuits in motor-control centres, internal wiring of enclosed equipment, and bus-tap points where the panel builder needs a visible, serviceable disconnection point. The 20 A rating is governed by the contact interface and the wire gauge ceiling (12 AWG is the practical upper limit for the termination); derate above 100 °C per the product drawing if the enclosure runs hot.
Termination: top and bottom
Top termination is screws with a captive plate — the plate holds the wire in place when the screw is backed out, so field servicing does not drop the conductor. Bottom termination accepts 0.187 inch quick-connect tabs in an insulated configuration, which means this block can receive a pre-crimped quick-connect from a harness builder without a separate junction point. Two wire entries are provided, one per circuit position.
Flange mount and environmental envelope
The integral flange provides two mounting holes for a panel face or DIN-rail adapter, making this a fixed-panel termination point rather than a free-floating connector. Operating range is -40 °C to 100 °C with a UL94 V-0 thermoplastic housing — it survives the thermal cycling typical of enclosed industrial enclosures without the V-0 becoming a constraint. Zinc trivalent screws resist white rust in mild environments.
