What this block is and where it sits in the series
The Molex 398800305 is the 5-position member of the Eurostyle 39880 series — a single-level, side-interlocking terminal block designed for through-hole PCB termination. The 5.08 mm pitch and 13.5 A per circuit rating position it in the mid-current range of the family, between the lower-current single-position test points and the higher-current multi-position blocks that step up to heavier wire gauges. It uses a screw-rising cage clamp that grips the full conductor cross-section without cold flow, so the termination is stable under vibration — a real concern in panel-wiring environments where these blocks often sit next to drives and contactors.
What the ratings mean for your fit
The 13.5 A per circuit rating comes from the tin-plated contacts with nickel underplate on the clamp and screw. The 300 V rating covers the 16–30 AWG wire range. The 0.68 Nm torque spec on the M3 screw is the field target — under-torque leaves the clamp loose; over-torque risks cracking the polyamide housing. Side interlocking keeps adjacent blocks aligned during panel assembly.
