What the ratings mean for your BOM line
The 430451016: The 8 A per-circuit current rating is the primary differentiator from lower-current headers in the same pitch class. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C. Voltage rating is 600V per. The contact plating split is deliberate and functional: 15.0 µin (0.38 µm) gold on the mating face gives low insertion resistance and repeatable contact integrity across the connector's cycle life, while 100.0 µin (2.54 µm) tin on the solder post provides solderability and long-term oxidation resistance at the board interface. The mating-side gold grade is suited for multiple connect/disconnect cycles; the heavier tin post finish is not intended for repeated re-mating at the board.
Mating and termination
This is a male pin header with four-wall shroud. The locking ramp mates with the housing latch to resist vibration disconnect. The shroud prevents mis-insertion of a neighbouring header into this connector.
Where the class is used
Micro-Fit 3.0 headers are a workhorse interconnect in automotive harness modules, industrial automation controllers, medical equipment power buses, and telecom infrastructure equipment — anywhere a compact 3mm-pitch power or mixed-signal connector needs positive locking and multiple mating cycles under vibration. The UL94 V-0 LCP insulation and the -40°C to 105°C operating range cover the thermal envelope of most non-exposed industrial and in-cabin automotive environments.
