What it is
The Molex 430451406 is the 14-circuit member of the Micro-Fit 3.0 43045 family — a dual-row right-angle SMT header with board-lock and locking-ramp retention. The shroud is 4-wall, fully enclosing the contact interface on all four sides. Contact finish is tin on both the mating face and the solder tail at 60.0 µin (1.52 µm), with brass base material.
Ratings and what they mean
Current rating is 8 A per circuit, sourced as a per-contact figure at the connector's thermal limit. At this plating level (full tin, 60 µin) the 8 A rating is governed by the contact cross-section and the LCP housing's temperature-rise ceiling — the same rating structure that applies across the 43045 series. For multi-circuit power runs, stay within the per-contact figure; the connector does not publish a total-current bus rating. Voltage rating is 600 V per. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C.
Retention and board mount
The dual retention features address different load axes: the board-lock tabs anchor the header to the PCB during wave or reflow stress, while the locking ramp on the shroud mates audibly with the receptacle latch — the primary vibration-backout protection in harness assemblies. Both features are standard across the 43045 series; swapping to a non-board-lock variant changes the board footprint. Surface-mount right-angle orientation suits single-sided or low-profile board assemblies where the cable enters perpendicular to the PCB plane. Termination is solder — solder-post dress is per the manufacturer landing pattern. The LCP insulator is glass-filled and rated UL94 V-0, suitable for reflow profiles without pre-sintering concerns.
