What the 430451414 Is
Plating Grade and What It Means for the Circuit
Voltage, Temperature, and the Environment Envelope
Rated 600V and -40°C to 105°C, the 430451414 sits comfortably inside the envelope for automotive under-hood and industrial drive-circuit harness work. The 600V headline rating covers the full AC and DC range for most Class-A systems; verify against your specific creepage and clearance layout at the board entry point. The LCP housing is glass-filled and rated UL94 V-0 — it does not drip or propagate flame, which matters in enclosed equipment enclosures where a burning connector housing creates secondary failure modes.
Mechanical Retention Under Vibration
The shrouding is four-wall — all four sides of the header body are closed — which locks the mated connector against lateral shift. The locking ramp on the friction lock catches before the full insertion depth and resists back-out from cable pull or vehicle vibration. The board guide features on the housing body align the mating connector during blind mating — a genuine help when the header sits behind a panel or deep in an enclosure where operator sightline is limited. Together these three features make the 430451414 suited for cable-to-board drops that must survive vibration-heavy environments without a separate mechanical fastener.
Mating Half and Series Compatibility
The 430451414 mates with any standard Micro-Fit 3.0 female receptacle housing accepting 14 circuits across two rows at 3.00mm pitch. The male header inserts into the receptacle from the board side; the cable-side connector is the active latch in the pair. Verify that your receptacle housing is rated for the same 8A per circuit — some housings in the series are populated selectively and carry a lower current rating on smaller position counts. The kinked pin on the through-hole tail holds position during wave-solder assembly — the kink traps the header in the PCB hole during paste print and reflow so the connector does not float or shift before the solder fills the annular ring.
