Dual-retention for vibration-prone applications
The 431602106: The locking ramp on the housing and the board-lock feature on the terminations are both present — a dual-retention combination important at 18 A where a partially unseated header can run hot. The board lock catches the housing during wave or reflow so the connector does not float; the locking ramp locks the mating receptacle on assembly. Confirm the receptacle housing carries the matching ramp feature before specifying.
Contact finish and mating cycles
The contacts are tin-plated at 60.0 µin (1.52 µm) — adequate for the intended permanent or limited-mate cycle application but below the wear resistance of gold plating. For a high-cycle field-mating scenario, the plating grade is the limiting factor, not the 18 A current rating. Verify the expected mate/demate count against the tin finish capability.
Where this class is used
The Sabre series targets wire-to-board and board-to-board power interconnect in industrial automation, lighting, and appliance control — applications that need 600 V rating with reasonable current density in a through-hole footprint. The PA46 glass-filled housing gives decent heat resistance for enclosed panel environments.
