What it is
The Molex 444412003 is the 3-position member of the Sabre 44441 connector family — a single-row, free-hanging receptacle housing designed for in-line wire-to-wire power interconnects. It accepts a female blade socket terminal (ordered separately under the matching Sabre contact series) and locks the assembly with an integral latch. The housing is rated 18 A per circuit at a 7.50 mm pitch, which places it in the mid-current power-connector class rather than signal-density territory. Operating temperature range spans -40°C to 75°C, and the PA/nylon body is ROHS3 compliant. Bulk pack; contacts are not included with the housing.
The 18 A rating and what it means for harness layout
At 18 A per circuit in a 7.50 mm pitch housing, the Sabre 44441 targets power-distribution nodes in harness assemblies where the circuit count stays low but current per position is the binding constraint. The latch-lock fastening is the primary retention — it holds the mated half under the vibration environment typical of industrial automation and transportation harness runs. The side-to-side stacking direction means the row extends along the wire axis, so the in-line footprint is longer than it is wide — relevant for routing in confined harness channels. Wire gauge selection for the companion female blade socket terminal should be governed by the 18 A per-circuit limit, not by the housing body itself.
What it mates with
The 444412003 mates with the corresponding Sabre 44441 plug housing and the compatible male tab header that shares the same 7.50 mm pitch and latch-lock interface. The female blade socket contact (ordered separately) determines the wire gauge and crimp termination quality — the housing carries no contact and no wire. Confirming the full contact part number from the Sabre datasheet before the RFQ avoids a partial-BOM situation where only the housing is ordered and the assembly cannot be completed.
