The 7.50 mm pitch is wide enough to give solid creepage for the 18 A rating without forcing a huge board footprint — you can route heavy traces between positions without tight clearance rules. The latch lock is a positive-retention feature — it clicks home and won't vibrate loose in a machine-tool or automotive underhood environment. If your environment pushes past 75°C, you'll need to check the derating curve for the 18 A rating at elevated temperature.
This is standard for modular power connectors, but it catches buyers who expect a pre-loaded housing. On-site, you can re-pin it with a basic crimp tool — the terminal is field-serviceable.
