Mating contacts are gold-plated (3.00 µinch / 0.076 µm) over phosphor bronze — the gold layer protects the base metal from oxidation during storage and repeated mate/unmate cycles. For applications subject to shock or continuous vibration, a locking ramp version from the same Micro-Fit 3.0 family would add a positive secondary hold.
Blind Mating and Assembly Aids
The header includes a board guide and is rated for blind mating — the guide features align the connector halves during insertion, reducing the risk of pin stubbing in tight enclosures or when the mating half is not visible to the assembler.
