Solder retention pads on the body anchor the plug during reflow and resist shear from cable strain or vibration in the field.
The 0.6mm mated stacking height is the key mechanical constraint: the receptacle half must also be a 0.6mm stack member for the pair to mate correctly. If your board-to-board gap is 0.8mm or 1.0mm, this plug won't reach — you'd need a different stack height variant in the series.
