The One Thing You Must Order Separately
This housing ships with no contacts. That is not a packaging oversight — it is because the crimp terminal is a separate line item, selected by wire gauge and plating. The Micro-Lock PLUS terminal family includes tin and gold options; the gold-plated version is the one to reach for if the assembly will see repeated mating cycles or a corrosive environment. Without the terminal, the housing is just a plastic shell — the BOM line is incomplete until you add the correct Molex crimp contact part number for your wire size.
The latch holder is the defining retention feature here. Unlike a ramped friction latch that can back out under cable strain, the Micro-Lock PLUS latch engages with an audible click and requires a deliberate lift to release. That makes this housing a good fit for harnesses that route through a moving assembly or see occasional tugging.
