With a 0.016" (0.40mm) pitch and two rows, it mates with the matching SlimStack receptacle to create a 1.5mm mated stack height — a common gap for compact portable electronics, handheld devices, and internal display interconnects where z-height is tight. The plug uses outer shroud contacts that shield the mating interface and guide alignment during board stacking.
At this density, a four-layer PCB with microvias is typical for routing the 20 circuits out from under the connector body. The 0.045" (1.14mm) height above board keeps the connector low enough to fit under a battery or display assembly in a 5-6mm thick device envelope. The Box packaging (cut tape) suits prototype or low-volume assembly runs where a full reel isn't needed.
