The Molex 762901022 is a 216-position Impact receptacle from the 76290 series, designed as the backplane-side mating half in high-speed differential-pair architectures. It carries 18 rows across 12 columns, laid out as 72 differential pairs — the column-and-row grid directly maps to the signal routing on the midplane PCB. Press-fit termination eliminates soldering, which means the receptacle can be installed into plated-through holes on the backplane without a reflow step — a common requirement for solderless assembly in telecom and datacom chassis where rework and field replacement matter. The right-angle orientation places the mating interface parallel to the board, suited for orthogonal midplane or mezzanine topologies where the daughtercard plugs in from the edge. Gold plating at 30.0 µin on the mating contacts provides the corrosion resistance and cycle life expected in a backplane environment where the receptacle sees multiple insertions during system integration and field service.
