All 4 positions are loaded with gold-plated male blades (30.0 µin / 0.76 µm on the mating interface), and the press-fit tails stake directly into plated through-holes without wave solder. The hold-down feature and onboard guide slot lock the connector against the board edge so vibration doesn't walk it loose — which is why you'd reach for this specific order code instead of a generic header at the same pitch.
What the 40 A means for your circuit
40 A per circuit at 250 V puts this squarely in bus-bar territory — not signal-level. The contact layout reads "4 Power" which tells you the entire shroud carries current, not a mixed signal+power split. You size your trace width and via current capacity to match 40 A per blade, and the UL94 V-0 black housing means the connector body won't soften if the bus runs hot in an enclosed enclosure. Operating range is -20°C to 85°C — derate the current above 85°C if your board runs hot in a sealed box, but for most industrial backplane work that ceiling holds fine.
Mating and termination
This is the male blade header — it mounts on the board edge and mates with the matching I-Trac receptacle housing (ordered separately). Press-fit termination means no solder fill concerns on high-current traces; the tail stakes into the plated hole and the gas seal holds without reflow. Right-angle orientation routes the mating face parallel to the board plane, which is the standard stacking posture for bus bars that run perpendicular to daughter cards.
