The 0.114-inch (2.90 mm) solder tail length is enough for a standard 1.6 mm board thickness with a through-hole solder joint. Expect at least 50–100 mating cycles from the gold interface in a clean environment.
Where This Header Fits in the C-Grid III Family
This is a standard breakaway header from the C-Grid III 90122 series, which spans 2 to 100 positions in single and dual rows. The 6-position, 2-row variant mates with C-Grid III crimp housings (series 90123, 90156, 90160) and IDC receptacles (series 90136, 90137) — all on the same 2.54 mm pitch. Compared to a fully shrouded header, the unshrouded design saves board space and gives visual access to the solder joints, but offers less mechanical keying against mis-mating. For applications where vibration is present, a secondary locking housing or a wire-retention feature on the receptacle side is recommended.
