SMP Receptacle, Full Detent, DC to 30 GHz
The SMP-PR(FD)-SMT-1(01): It belongs to the SMP-PR series of push-on connectors, distinguished here by the Full Detent feature — a positive mechanical latch that gives a tactile and audible click when the mating plug is fully seated. Surface-mount termination suits automated assembly onto a PCB, with the shield soldered directly to the board ground plane.
Full Detent vs Limited Detent vs Smooth Bore
The SMP-PR(FD)-SMT-1(01) uses a Full Detent retention mechanism, rated for 100 mating cycles. That contrasts with the Limited Detent variant (SMP-PR(LD)-SMT-1), which gives a lighter detent feel and 500 cycles, and the Smooth Bore version (SMP-PR(SB)-SMT-1), which has no detent at all and reaches 1000 cycles. The trade-off is straightforward: Full Detent gives the strongest retention and the most positive mate indication, at the cost of cycle life. For a semi-permanent board-to-cable connection that gets mated once or twice in the field, 100 cycles is ample; for a test-port or frequent-swap application, the Smooth Bore sibling is the better fit.
