SMP jack for semi-rigid cable assemblies
The Molex 0734153744 is an SMP series jack, female socket, built for RG-405 (.086 semi-rigid) cable. The body is machined from beryllium copper with a gold finish, the centre contact is also gold-plated beryllium copper, and the dielectric is PTFE. The shield terminates via crimp; the centre contact is soldered. The snap-on fastening gives a quick, positive lock without threads — the engagement force and retention are defined by the SMP interface standard.
This connector is designed specifically for RG-405 (.086 diameter) semi-rigid cable. The shield crimp and centre solder termination are standard for this cable class; the gold-plated beryllium copper centre contact handles repeated soldering without degrading the contact surface.
