The Molex 0734155122 is an SMP-series jack, female socket, designed for blind-mate RF interconnects where a push-on snap-lock is preferred over threaded coupling. It carries 50 Ohms characteristic impedance and is rated DC to 26.5 GHz, covering Ku and K bands for test equipment, microwave modules, and compact radio heads. The body is machined from beryllium copper with a gold finish — the same material and plating as the centre contact. That gives a corrosion-resistant, low-resistance ground path through the shell. The dielectric is PTFE, which keeps insertion loss stable across the band.
Cable and termination
This jack is specified for 0.047" semi-rigid cable.
Mating and interface
The mating half is an SMP male plug (snap-on interface). SMP uses a push-to-mate, pull-to-unmate retention — the snap-on fastening type on this jack engages with the mating plug's collet. No wrench or torque spec is needed; the snap gives a tactile and audible confirmation of full engagement. The female socket centre contact accepts the male pin of the mating plug.
