The Amphenol RF 031-212-1005 is a BNC plug kit — a male pin plug with a bayonet lock, intended for field termination onto a range of common 75 Ohm and 50 Ohm coax cables. This is the full assembly kit: the connector body, braid clamp, clamp, centre contact, gasket, and washer are all in the bag.
50 Ohm, 4 GHz — signal path limits
Impedance is 50 Ohm, the standard for RF test equipment, telecom base stations, and video distribution. That 4 GHz cap keeps it inside the usable range for L-band satellite, GPS, and cellular backhaul; it will roll off before 6 GHz Wi-Fi bands. For a 50 Ohm system at 4 GHz, the VSWR stays within spec for the cable groups listed — RG-59, RG-62, RG-140, RG-210, and Belden 8241, 8263, 8279, 9209.
Weatherproof build for outdoor installs
Rated weatherproof — the gasket seals the cable entry, and the bayonet lock pulls the plug face tight against the jack's O-ring. This is not an IP67 submersion rating, but it handles rain, condensation, and splash in an outdoor enclosure or antenna mast. The PTFE dielectric holds stable dielectric constant across the temperature swing, which matters when the coax runs from a -40°C rooftop to a 165°C engine bay.
What's in the kit — and what you add
Six pieces in the bag: the BNC plug body, braid clamp, cable clamp, centre contact pin, gasket, and washer. You supply the coax cable and the solder iron — the centre contact is solder-terminated, and the braid is clamped under the braid clamp. No crimp tool needed. The cable group list covers RG-59, 59B, 62, 140, 210, and several Belden types; if your cable jacket diameter or dielectric fits those, this kit works. No separate hardware to order.
