TNC Jack for LMR-240 — 50 Ohm, 6 GHz, Kit Format
The connector ships as a kit: one TNC jack, one crimp ferrule, one lockwasher, and one front-side mounting nut, so the hardware for a bulkhead install is in one bag.
The 6 GHz maximum frequency is the upper end of the specified bandwidth; above that the VSWR rises and the return loss degrades. For LMR-240, the cable itself is specified to about 6 GHz, so the connector does not become the bottleneck. The gold-plated beryllium copper centre contact keeps contact resistance low over 500 mating cycles — thin flash would wear through sooner, but the 031-6828 uses a machined turned pin with enough gold to handle repeated field connects.
Cable Group and Termination — Crimp Shield, Solder Centre
The 031-6828 is tooled specifically for LMR-240 cable. The shield termination is crimp — a hex crimp over the ferrule compresses the braid against the connector body for a low-impedance ground path. The centre contact is solder, which gives a reliable connection to the centre conductor without the risk of cold-flow that a crimp can introduce on solid-core LMR-240.
