Product details

Panel-Mount BNC Jack for RG-178/196

The Amphenol RF 031-6843-BC is a BNC-style female jack designed for bulkhead mounting with a front-side nut.

The 50 Ohm characteristic impedance matches the standard for most RF test and telecom systems — the connector itself won't introduce a reflection at the junction if the cable and PCB trace are also 50 Ohm. The 4 GHz upper frequency covers Wi-Fi bands (2.4/5 GHz are beyond it, so this jack is not a fit for 5 GHz WLAN or higher ISM bands) but handles GPS, cellular up to 2.7 GHz, and most instrumentation signals comfortably.

Cable Termination and Mechanicals

The cable group is limited to RG-178, a 50 Ohm coax with a solid or stranded center conductor small enough to fit the contact bore. Rated for 500 mating cycles.

Frequently asked questions

Is 031-6843-BC a female connector?
