The Amphenol 031-6922 is a TNC-series jack (female socket) built for RG-142 cable — a double-shielded 50 Ohm coax common in military, aerospace, and high-reliability RF links. The threaded coupling gives a vibration-resistant mate, and the IP67 rating (dust-tight, waterproof to 1m immersion) pushes this beyond a lab connector into outdoor antennas, base stations, and industrial radio links where moisture is a risk. The 50 Ohm impedance holds the signal path consistent; the 11 GHz max frequency covers most cellular, ISM, and GPS bands with headroom.

The 11 GHz frequency ceiling covers L-band through X-band.

Mounting and Termination — What to Expect

Panel mount via bulkhead with a front-side nut — the jack secures to the panel face, and the cable attaches from the rear. The shield is crimped, the center conductor soldered. This is the standard termination sequence for RG-142: strip the jacket, fold the braid back, crimp the ferrule, then solder the center pin. The PTFE dielectric handles the temperature range without melting or flowing during soldering.
