The 031-70234: The 75 Ohm impedance — not the 50 Ohm typical of RF BNCs — makes this connector the correct interface for broadcast video, SDI/HD-SDI, and baseband data links where impedance matching to the cable is critical.
That means the manufacturer no longer supports new-project qualifications, though existing production runs may still be fulfilled through the supply channel. For a new BOM line, an equivalent 75 Ohm BNC plug from the same or a compatible series should be evaluated.
Kit Contents and Cable Fit
The 031-70234 ships as a 3-piece kit: one BNC plug body, one crimp contact (male pin), and one crimp ferrule. The contact and ferrule are matched to the cable group listed — Belden 1694, 1694A, and 9248 — so the crimp die and strip dimensions from the cable manufacturer's data sheet apply directly. The bayonet lock (BNC standard) provides a quick quarter-turn mate with any 75 Ohm BNC jack. Shield termination is via the crimp ferrule over the braid; the centre contact is crimped separately.
