The 031-80401: This is the standard 75 Ohm interface for composite video, CCTV, and telecom baseband signals where the 50 Ohm BNC would create an impedance mismatch.
Rated to 3 GHz with 0.2 dB insertion loss — the 75 Ohm impedance holds the return loss low across the video band (DC to a few hundred MHz) and into low microwave frequencies. The 500 V voltage rating covers the peak levels on video lines and telecom signalling.
Use it on 75 Ohm cable (RG-179, RG-187, Belden 9221) and mate it with a 75 Ohm BNC jack to avoid impedance mismatch.
