What This 75 Ohm BNC Plug Is For
It is the high-definition variant of the standard BNC, designed for video, broadcast, and data applications where the 75 Ohm impedance matches the cable and system characteristic impedance.
This plug is built for Belden 4505P cable group — the crimp dimensions and centre pin size are specific to that cable's dielectric diameter and centre conductor gauge. Both the shield and centre contact are crimp terminated, so you need the correct crimp die set for the hex size on the ferrule and pin. On site, that means you can re-terminate a damaged end without replacing the whole cable run, as long as the cable type matches.
Signal Rating and Durability
Rated to 18 GHz maximum frequency.
Nickel-plated brass body, silver housing colour, with a PTFE dielectric. The operating range is -30°C to 85°C, which covers indoor equipment rooms and outdoor enclosures in moderate climates. The PTFE dielectric holds its dielectric constant across that range, so the impedance stays stable.
