This connector is specified for the Belden 9913 cable group. The cable's dielectric diameter and braid coverage are matched to the connector's crimp ferrule and center contact dimensions. The shield termination is a crimp — a hex crimp tool with the correct die set for the ferrule OD is required. The center contact is soldered; pre-tinning the beryllium copper pin and using a controlled-temperature iron prevents damage to the gold plating.
Mating and Field Life
The threaded fastening type is standard for N-type connectors, providing a vibration-resistant, weatherproof mate when tightened to the specified torque. This cycle life is typical for test equipment, antenna feeds, or any application where the cable is disconnected and reconnected periodically.
