Product details

USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A Receptacle — 9 Contacts, Vertical Mount

The Amphenol FCI 10117836-002LF is a USB Type-A receptacle supporting USB 3.2 Gen 1 (formerly USB 3.0 / SuperSpeed) data rates. It carries 9 contacts — the standard count for a USB 3.x Type-A connector, with the four legacy USB 2.0 pins in the front and five additional SuperSpeed contacts recessed in the rear. Gold plating on the contacts protects against corrosion over repeated mating cycles — important for a front-panel USB port that sees daily connect/disconnect duty.

Current Rating — Two Tiers for Signal and Power Pins

The current rating splits into two values: 0.25A per contact on the signal lines and 1.8A per contact on the power pins. This is typical for USB 3.x receptacles — the VBUS and GND pins carry the higher current for device charging, while the differential data pairs are rated lower since they only drive signal levels. The 30VAC voltage rating covers standard USB bus voltage.

This is a standard USB Type-A receptacle. It mates with any USB Type-A plug.
