The 10129379-920002BLF: The 2.54mm pitch sets the board footprint — it matches standard 0.100" grid prototyping and IDC ribbon cable receptacles. Rated 3A per contact, with the current limited by the gold-flash plating and the 2.41mm insulation height that governs the creepage path. The 0.230" mating pin length gives enough reach for standard box headers or shrouded receptacles; the 0.090" solder post fits through a 1.6mm board without protruding far beyond the solder fillet.
Gold Flash vs. Duty Cycle — What the Plating Tells You
The mating contact finish is 1.00µin gold over copper alloy. That is a cost-optimized flash — it prevents oxidation during storage and first mate, but does not support repeated connect-disconnect cycles. For a header that gets mated once during assembly and stays connected, this is fine. The push-pull retention is the simplest unshrouded interface — no latch, no screw lock. In a vibration environment, the header alone won't hold; you need a receptacle with a locking ramp or a secondary retention feature.
Cuttable Body — Why That Matters on the Bench
