RP-SMA Plug for RG-58 and Similar Coax
The reverse-polarity (RP) interface means the centre contact is a socket rather than a pin — important when mating with standard SMA jacks that also carry a female centre contact, as the polarity swap prevents accidental connection to standard SMA equipment. Rated to 12.4 GHz with a 500 V voltage rating, this plug suits RF test leads, antenna feeds, and instrumentation links where the cable group matches RG-58, 58A, 58B, 58C, 141, 303, LMR-195, Belden B7806A, or 9907.
The shield is terminated by crimping the included ferrule over the braid; the centre conductor is soldered into the beryllium copper contact, which is gold-plated for corrosion resistance and consistent RF performance over 500 mating cycles. The PTFE dielectric maintains a stable 50 Ohm impedance through the connector body. The free-hanging, right-angle mounting style lets the cable exit perpendicular to the connector axis, which helps in tight enclosures or where the cable must run along a panel.
