RF Adapter for Interface Conversion
The Amphenol RF 132171RP-10 is a between-series adapter that converts an SMA jack (female socket) on one end to an RP-SMA plug (female socket on the reverse polarity side) on the other.
Why the Gender Reversal Matters
This adapter mates an SMA jack (female socket) to an RP-SMA plug (female socket). The RP-SMA interface reverses the gender convention — the center contact on the plug side is a socket, not a pin. That means a standard SMA male plug (with a center pin) will not mate here; the adapter expects an RP-SMA male plug (with a center socket) on the RP side. Compared to the 132169RP (SMA jack to RP-SMA jack, female to male), the 132171RP-10 gives you a female-to-female center path, useful when both cable ends carry male pins and you need a gender changer that also flips the polarity.
Active Production — No End-of-Life Risk
The gold body finish and PTFE dielectric are standard materials that are not subject to the same obsolescence pressure as plated housings with specialty platings. For BOM planning, this adapter can be specified without a near-term LTB contingency.
