The 132289RP: The RP-SMA (Reverse Polarity SMA) interface swaps the gender of the centre contact relative to standard SMA — the receptacle carries the pin, so it mates with an RP-SMA plug that has a socket. This is the common configuration for Wi-Fi antennas, wireless modules, and test equipment where the reverse-polarity interface prevents accidental mating with standard SMA connectors. The connector ships in bulk as a three-piece assembly: the receptacle body, a lockwasher, and a hex nut for front-side bulkhead mounting.
18 GHz Bandwidth, 500 Mating Cycles, Gold-Plated Interface
The 18 GHz maximum frequency covers the full L, S, C, X, and Ku bands — enough for most wireless infrastructure, test instrumentation, and microwave links. The 375 V voltage rating provides extra margin for DC bias on the centre conductor or transient spikes in outdoor installations.
Board Edge, End Launch, or Panel Mount — Two Mounting Options
The 132289RP supports both board-edge end launch and panel mount. For end launch, the connector solders directly to the edge of a PCB — the signal pin aligns with a microstrip or grounded coplanar waveguide trace, and the ground legs tie to the board's ground plane. For panel mount, the bulkhead front-side nut secures the connector through a chassis cutout, with the included lockwasher preventing rotation under torque. The shield termination is solder — the outer conductor solders to the board ground or to a chassis ground tab, depending on the mounting method. The contact termination is also solder, requiring a soldering iron for the centre pin.
