The 142187-75: This is a complete termination kit: the package includes the connector body with a female socket centre contact, a separate crimp contact, a ferrule, and a piece of heat shrink tubing — four pieces per assembly, one cable end per kit. The 75 Ohm impedance sets this apart from the more common 50 Ohm SMB variants. It pairs exclusively with 75 Ohm cable and 75 Ohm equipment — video distribution, broadcast, CCTV, and some data-acquisition systems use this impedance standard. The PTFE dielectric maintains consistent impedance through temperature swings. Insertion loss is 0.3 dB — low enough that a single mated pair adds negligible attenuation to a video or RF signal path.
Crimp Termination — Shield and Centre Contact
Termination is crimp for the shield and either crimp or solder for the centre contact. The ferrule crimps over the RG-179 double braid shield; the centre contact can be crimped or soldered to the signal conductor. The heat shrink tube slides over the ferrule and cable jacket for strain relief and environmental sealing.
