RP-N Plug, 11 GHz, 50 Ohm — What This Connector Carries

The 172100RP: The RP-N designation flips the gender convention: this plug mates with a standard N jack that has a male center pin, not the usual female socket.

Designed for RG-58, 58A, 58B, 58C, 141, 303, LMR-195, Belden B7806A, and 9907 cables. The shield is crimped using the included ferrule; the center contact is crimped separately. The nickel-plated brass body and gold-plated phosphor bronze center contact handle 500 mating cycles with stable contact resistance. PTFE dielectric keeps insertion loss to 0.15 dB across the band — the PTFE holds impedance tolerance through cable prep and temperature cycling.

How It Compares — 172142 vs 172100RP

The 172142 is the standard-polarity N plug (male pin) for the same cable group RG-55, 142, 223, 400. Both share the 11 GHz ceiling, 0.15 dB insertion loss, and crimp termination. The call is polarisation: if your mating jack has a female socket, you need the standard 172142; if it has a male pin, you need this RP-N 172100RP. No other electrical difference.
