75 Ohm RF Plug for RG-6 and Belden 1694A
The Amphenol RF 282137-75 is a 1.0/2.3 series plug, male pin, designed for 75 Ohm impedance video and broadband signal paths. It comes as a 3-piece kit — the connector body, centre contact, and crimp ferrule are all included in one order code, so you don't need to source the contact and ferrule separately. The 75 Ohm characteristic impedance is the defining spec here: this is for SDI video, CCTV, and CATV distribution where 50 Ohm would create a reflection mismatch. The interface is rated to 3 GHz, covering HD-SDI and 3G-SDI data rates with margin. The cable group is specified for RG-6 double braid and Belden 1694A — both 75 Ohm precision video cables with a solid copper centre conductor and dual shield. The crimp termination handles the shield and ferrule in one operation; the centre contact crimps separately. The brass body with nickel finish gives RFI shielding and corrosion resistance for outdoor or rack-mount installs.
Field Termination and Mating Life
Free-hanging (in-line) mounting with push-pull fastening — no tool needed to mate or unmate, which is the standard for 1.0/2.3 interfaces in patch panels and test points. That cycle life is realistic for a test-equipment or broadcast patch bay where connectors get swapped daily; for a permanent install it's effectively unlimited. The full temperature envelope covers outdoor broadcast vans, industrial cabinets near heat sources, and unheated storage.
