50 Ohm BNC Plug for Thin-Flex Coax — 4 GHz, Crimp Termination
The 31-315-RFX: The 4 GHz frequency ceiling covers legacy video distribution, instrumentation, and telecom baseband links — not modern multi-GHz data backplanes. The kit ships as four pieces: the connector body, a crimp contact, a ferrule, and an insulator.
Cable Compatibility — Which Coax Fits
This plug is specced for RG-174, RG-188, RG-188A, RG-316, LMR-100, and M17/119-RG174 — all thin-jacket cables with a nominal dielectric diameter around 0.100 inch. The crimp ferrule and centre contact are sized for that cable group; the plug will not crimp properly on RG-58 or RG-213, which have a thicker dielectric. For RG-58 cable, the sibling 31-320-RFX uses the same BNC plug body but with a larger ferrule and contact set.
