The 31-318-RFX is part of the 31-318 series of RF coaxial connectors, built for RG-174, RG-316, and LMR-100 class cables.
The 4 GHz frequency maximum covers the full BNC band for most lab and field applications; above that, the connector's geometry introduces a standing-wave ratio that degrades signal integrity. The insertion loss is rated at 0.2 dB, typical for a well-terminated BNC at these frequencies.
This jack accepts RG-174, RG-188, RG-188A, RG-316, LMR-100, and M17/119-RG174 cables — all small-diameter coax with a nominal impedance of 50 Ohms. It does not accept RG-58 class cables (that is the 31-320-RFX variant). Both the shield and the center contact are crimp-terminated, which gives a consistent, repeatable termination for field installation.
Panel Mount and Kit Contents
The connector mounts in a bulkhead panel using the front-side nut — the lockwasher and nut are included in the kit. The bayonet lock provides a quick, positive mate with the matching BNC plug.
