This plug accepts the common 75 Ohm video coax types — RG-59, RG-62, RG-140, RG-210, plus the Belden equivalents 8241, 8263, 8279, and 9209. The dielectric is polyoxymethylene (POM) acetal, chosen for its stable electrical properties through that range.
The 500-cycle mating life comes from the gold-plated brass center contact wiping against the receptacle's beryllium copper — the gold flash resists oxidation through repeated connects in field-service rotation. Voltage rating is 500 V, which covers the working voltage of most 75 Ohm video distribution systems.
It is still available for existing BOM positions, but new projects should look at the current-production Amphenol RF BNC 75 Ohm offering.
