Strain Relief for RG-174 Cable
The Amphenol RF 60052-000 is a black PVC strain relief accessory designed specifically for RG-174 coaxial cable. It fits over the cable jacket at the connector back end to absorb flex and pull forces, protecting the solder joint or crimp termination inside the connector body. The PVC body material gives it enough flexibility to follow the cable bend without cracking, while still holding the cable rigidly enough to prevent the centre conductor from pulling back from the contact.
Cable Compatibility and Fit
This strain relief is built for RG-174 cable, a common thin 50-ohm coax used in pigtail assemblies and patch cords. The 60052-000 mates with standard RG-174 connectors — typically BNC, SMA, or TNC plugs that accept the 0.110-inch jacket diameter of RG-174. The black PVC boot slides over the cable before the connector is crimped or soldered, then seats against the connector body. Compared to the 60030-000 which fits RG-59 (larger 0.212-inch jacket) and the 60015-000 for RG-58 (0.195-inch jacket), the 60052-000 is the correct choice when the BOM calls for RG-174 cable.
