What this Clincher™ receptacle does
The 65801-039LF is a 10-position FFC/FPC receptacle from the Clincher™ series, using IDC termination to pierce the FFC insulation directly — no separate crimp terminal needed. The gold plating supports 100 mating cycles minimum — enough for periodic field service or rework, but not for daily hot-plug duty. The flip lock actuator (beige) secures the FFC; the housing is blue thermoplastic rated UL94 V-0. The free-hanging (in-line) mount means the connector floats on the cable, relying on the flip lock for retention — no board lock or panel hole required.
IDC vs solder termination — a selection note
The 65801-039LF uses IDC termination, which pierces the FFC insulation directly. This contrasts with the solder-terminated siblings 65801-034LF (5 positions), 65801-033LF (4 positions), and 65801-037LF (8 positions) — all otherwise identical in pitch, current, voltage, and plating. The IDC variant eliminates the soldering step, saving assembly time on the harness line, but the FFC must have the correct notched cable end type (0.20mm thickness) for reliable insulation displacement. For a cable-to-cable or cable-to-board free-hanging interconnect, the IDC version is the faster, cleaner termination.
